It is Advanced Card ACR1281U-K 4S Dual Reader Bus to manage asynchronous cards due to its specific ISO UART that can be driven from a microcontroller by means of the parallel bus in multiplexed mode. A board has been built in order to demonstrate a communication between a smart card and a host system which is here a PC; this board is driven from the PC by means of an application named SCManager and its associated Windows device driver.
The following diagram illustrates this application. Its main focus is to facilitate the development of smart card based applications for the PC by developing open specifications that ensure interoperability among cards, readers and PCs. The specifications are based on ISO standards and version 1.
